Pharmaceutical Science

Pharmacists are the country's main experts in medicines and pharmacy is one of the fastest growing areas of healthcare.

In the next 50 years we will see some amazing developments in science that will lead to the introduction of new medicines for all kinds of illnesses and diseases. Pharmacists will be involved with these new medicines every step of the way, from their development in the lab to their distribution in the community and in hospitals.

Career opportunities in pharmacy are developing fast and pharmacists today can be found in many different settings including high street pharmacies, on hospital wards, in GPs' surgeries, walk-in centres, in industry and at work in universities.

Whatever path they choose, all pharmacists share a common commitment to improving people's lives through medicines and care and making a real contribution to the nation's health.

B. Pharma

The B.Pharm course is of four years duration, for which the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, conducts the qualifying examinations. Students completing this degree course are eligible to register as pharmacist and practice the profession throughout India as per the rules and regulations of Pharmacy Council of India. Through this degree program the students are trained to work in hospitals as well as in pharmaceutical manufacturing and analytical units. Apart from the usual curriculum, the college provides practical training in pharmaceutical industries and in hospitals all over India . Students completing the degree program in this institution are thus themselves getting enormous confidence and ability in their profession.

Eligibility:

Candidate should have passed 10+2 or A Levels with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology as optional subjects for admission to BPharm and minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the optional subjects.

Lateral entry: Diploma holders in Pharmacy are admitted directly to second year on the basis of marks. The total number of such admissions will not exceed the total vacancies in the second year.

Qualification: Diploma holder in Pharmacy with a minimum 60% in the final examination.

The candidates who are appearing the final qualifying examination may also apply. They are not eligible for admission if they do not pass the qualifying examination with requisite percentage of marks.
